When a local florist posted a picture with rocks as flowers, Mrs. Carol Whatley thought what a great idea for Northwest. She contacted Perry Pope of the Flower Pot for some ideas of how to implement this project at school. He loved the idea as well. He purchased all the rocks for this project for all of our classrooms to create flowers. Every extra person in our building helped a classroom to design and create a flower rock. It was a great way for different people in our building to help a teacher they would not normally work with on this level.
The classroom teachers enjoyed putting a little bit of their classroom on the rocks. One rock is a razorback theme rock to match their classroom theme. Another teacher even put their class picture on a rock. Lots of different creative touches in the classroom rocks.
