Long-time El Dorado School Board member Susan Turbeville was elected by board members to serve as the next president and Renee Skinner was named as the new vice president at the regular meeting of the Board on Monday, October 9.

Turbeville assumed her new role immediately replacing Wayne Gibson who has served as Board President for the last two years. She thanked Gibson for his service and Superintendent Jim Tucker appreciated Gibson for his willingness to always choose the right thing for our students.

In addition to serving on the El Dorado School Board, Turbeville is executive director of the Haiti Education Foundation – an entity that has provided education for children living in the remote mountains of southern Haiti for over 30 years.

Turbeville has worked with the foundation for about 16 years and has traveled to Haiti on numerous trips. She is an active member of College Avenue Church of Christ and has served on the El Dorado School Board for a number of years. She and her husband, Joey, have two grown children, Emile and Trey.
