DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 29, 2018

  • PROM: 
    • Seniors of EHS 2018, if your date for the prom is not an EHS Senior , you must get it approved. Forms are located in Mrs. Thigpen's Office.  Deadline to turn in forms is March 29.
    • Come by Mrs. Thigpen's office to receive a copy of prom attire guidelines.  IF you have any questions, please come by and see Mrs. Newton.  If dresses do not meet guidelines, you will not be admitted into prom...this includes ANY date brought outside of EHS. You will not be refunded on your ticket.
  • GUIDANCE OFFICE: 
    • The Arkansas Community Foundation Scholarship portal is open. Several scholarship options are on this site all seniors are encouraged to apply. Visit www.arcf.org.
    • Several scholarship applications are avaliable in the guidance office. The Union County Community Scholarships can be found at www.uccfar.org 
    • Friday, March 9th is the registration Deadline for the April 14 ACT. Stop by the Guidance Office and Visit with one of the College/Career Coaches if you need assistance signing up. 
    • Juniors interested in attending Girls' or Boys' State need to stop by the counselors' office and sign up. 
    • Seniors, there are several scholarship deadlines this week. Make sure you complete applications and submit before the deadline. 
  • YEARBOOK: Senior quotes are due TODAY. If you've bought a senior ad, it's free. Turn it in to Mrs. Cross in 2205. If you haven't bought an ad, bring $5 and your quote to Mrs. Cross in 2205. ALSO club photos will be taken on Monday. 
  • SENIOR DATA SHEETS: Senior Data Sheets are availabe in the Guidance Office. ALL SENIORS NEED TO COMPLETE AND RETURN THEM TO THE GUIDANCE OFFICE. This information will be announced at Graduation and Posted In The NEWSPAPER.       
  • FRESHMEN TRACK: On Tuesday the following boys scored points at the Magnolia relays for a 4th place finish; The 4 by 1 relay team of Jerod Green, Kade Newton, Gecory Lovett and Donovan Dismuke. placed 4th. In the Mile Eloy Rodriguez fnished 4th and Gecory Lovett finished 6th in the 110 hurdles, Hollis Mecuin placed 6th in the 300 hurdles and Luke Stratton placed 7th in the disc.  
  • HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: Tickets to EHS's production of High School Musical will be on sale during all 3 lunch shifts. Tickets are $10 and production dates are April 12-14. This is one production you do not want to miss! For more information, visit Troupe42.com.
  • SOUL OF A WILDCAT: What is the soul of a Wildcat? Show us or tell us! A chance to show your talents, win cash, and travel to a world-class art exhibit. Deadline to enter is Friday, April 6th. 
  • TEACHER EXCELLENCE AWARDS: We have placed Teacher Excellence Award Nomination Forms in your box. Please hand our to students who would like to nominate at teacher, counselor, coach, IRT or Librarian at EHS. All forms need to be turned in by Thursday, March 29th. Additional forms may be attained in the main office.
  • STUDENT COUNCIL: If you would like to be on the 2018-2019 Student Council please come by Mr. Sanders Room 2201 and pick up a petition for grade level representative. We will be holding the elections for the 2018-2019 Student Council Officers during all three lunch shifts today.
  • FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet on Thursday 3/29 during all three lunch shifts. You do not need to be an athlete to attend. Just bring your lunch and come hang out. If you have any questions, contact Officer Ardwin.
  • FBLA: All FBLA State Competitors: Please see Mrs. Phillips in Room 1518 by Monday, April 2, to sign the agreement form for the conference.
  • CATS CONFERENCES: Students, if you have not set up a time with your homeroom teacher for CATS on Tuesday, get that set. You and your parent need to attend Tuesday's conference. Accuplacer testing will be available for $10, the regular price, from 9-12 on our campus if you need a score for concurrent credit or if you are a senior planning to attend SouthArk in the fall.

  • BOYS BASKETBALL: Boys basketball will be having tryouts on Friday April 6th at 3:30. If you are an official resident of AC and have been suspended multiple times you can save yourself some time and not show up. If you are in a Spring Sport and can not make it that day get with Coach Simmons to arrange another day..
  • SOPHOMORES: Attention Sophomores: If you are interested in being considered to attend the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Seminar this summer in Russelville, AR; sign up in Guidance Office. Deadline for sign up 4/4. There will be a Sophomore Steering Committee Meeting for current and new members on Wednesday, April 4th in Ms. Lowe’s room 2526.
  • VARSITY TRACK: Release the varsity track team at 1:20pm today.
