I have been teaching for five years. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family in my spare time. My husband’s name is Patrick and we have four boys. I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s In Educational Administration at the University of Arkansas at Magnolia. My favorite quote is, “A child only educated at school is an uneducated child,” by George Santayana. I love to challenge my students by encouraging them to change their attitude toward life. If you believe you can’t, then you won't, but if you believe you can, you’ll try. It was this struggle within myself that lead me to become a teacher. I believe that certain people were born to do certain things, I was born to teach. I look forward to this being a MARVELous year!

I came to Arkansas and teaching with Teach For America in 2011. I taught 6th grade math at Camden Fairview Middle School for three years, 8th grade Pre-Algebra for one year in Crossett, and this is my fourth year teaching 4th grade math and STEM at Retta Brown.
I believe it's not about the answers, it's about the process. Mistakes are encouraged.
I became a teacher because she felt like education can be the great equalizer among people in this world by providing everyone with equitable opportunities to be successful.
This year I look forward to working with the wonderful students and families we have at Retta Brown! Let's dig in, work hard, and get your student ready for Middle School!
