Bethanie Hale, Principal

FAVORITE QUOTE "The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude." ~Unknown

I taught first grade and third grade before I became a Math Instructional Facilitator. I was a Math IF for two years before becoming the Assistant Principal at Retta Brown. I am currently entering my fourth year as the Principal of Retta Brown and I couldn't be more excited! This quote by Albert Einstein sums up my teaching philosophy in one sentence. "Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid." All children can learn, but each child is unique and you have to work hard to meet the needs of each individual in order to reach the whole group. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work in education. I wanted to make a difference and what a better way to do so than with America’s future. I wanted to help students and teachers reach their full potential. I want to show everyone I work with that they are special and that if they work hard they can make a difference in the world we live in. Working in education is extremely rewarding and I wouldn't want to do anything else!
