Washington Middle School is a Cyber-STEAM Academy. We are recipients of the International STEM Education Award. This means that we were one of four schools in the world that were recognized as a STEM School of Excellence.
We received this award because we offer Mini STEAM classes for every student for both 5th and 6th grades. We offer STEAM electives, such as Maker Lab, Innovation Station, Creative Computer Coding, Videography/ Cinematography, and more to come in the future.
We also have at least two big events during each school year. These events incorporate cross curricular units culminating in a STEAM day. This day is a project based day, where students stay with their homeroom teacher to complete a variety of projects. These projects are then judged and awards are given. This is always a favorite time of the year for teachers, students, parents, volunteers, and administration.
