michaels as transportation director

The El Dorado School District is pleased to announce that Alexander Michaels has recently assumed the role of ESD Transportation Director.

Alexander Michaels has spent the last fourteen years as a music teacher within the El Dorado School District, most recently as the Assistant High School Band Director and Jazz Band Director. Although this new position is not directly tied to the classroom, he is excited about the various responsibilities this role brings and continues to look for ways to have a positive impact on our students’ educational experience.

A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University (Bachelor of Music Education) and the University of Arkansas at Monticello (Master of Music in Jazz Studies), Michaels has enjoyed helping students discover a love for music and “teaching them how to express themselves through the idiom of music.” Some of his greatest teaching memories include making music with the El Dorado Jazz Cats.

Michaels is the Master of El Dorado Masonic Lodge #13, Past President of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association, and a Shriner for the Scimitar Shrine Temple of Arkansas. He and his wife Jennifer, the Orchestra Director in ESD, enjoy traveling the U.S. on their motorcycle and camping with their two Great Dane furbabies.

We look forward to seeing Mr. Michaels excel in his new role!
