Congratulations to the students who were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on April 4th at the EHS Auditorium.
During the induction, Principal Henry said: "The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, National Junior Honor Society serves to honor those students who also demonstrate excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in activities of the National Honor Society in chapters across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. Territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but also challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Induction into the National Junior Honor Society is a prestigious distinction awarded only to the most proficient students.
Each year, Honor Society Chapters throughout the country collectively dedicate countless hours to school and community service projects as well as fundraisers for local, national, and international charities. Instilling these values early in life helps to lay the groundwork for a lifetime of service.
Qualifying students are reviewed for the five qualities each National Junior Honor Society member must possess. Those five characteristics are scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. "
