Arkansas Department of Education names El Dorado School District as R.I.S.E Silver Recipient

The El Dorado School District is proud to announce its recent recognition by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) as a Silver recipient in the Reading Initiative for Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.) for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The R.I.S.E. program, an integral part of Governor Sanders' Arkansas LEARNS Act, aims to elevate literacy beyond traditional classroom settings by encouraging collaboration between schools and communities. ESD's commitment to this initiative has earned them the prestigious Silver recognition from the ADE. This acknowledgment highlights ESD's dedication to promoting a culture of reading for students, families, and the wider community.

“Improving literacy is a primary focus of Gov. Sanders’ Arkansas LEARNS Act,” ADE Secretary Jacob Oliva said. “In order to be successful, schools and communities must work together to ensure all students are reading on grade level.”

To be eligible for this recognition, the El Dorado School District submitted a comprehensive letter of commitment, developed an action plan, and provided a portfolio showcasing evidence of successful implementation throughout the year.
