🌟 The Amazing Shake Team Prepares for Atlanta! 🌟 Last Thursday, our students faced a unique challenge in preparation for the upcoming competition. With the restaurant's main foods out of stock, they had to think on their feet and order from the available options. This real-life scenario tested their problem-solving skills and adaptability. Go team!

5th grade writing has been worked hard to prepare for the state writing test! Several students made encouraging posters for their peers, and many students have shown mastery on all 5th grade writing targets!

WMS archery tryouts are upon us: Please read the flyer below for more information for tryout dates for each school. Parents/Guardians MUST fill out the Google Form below at least one day prior to tryout date. WMS Archery season has come to an end for both teams, and what a season it’s been! Today they competed in the State Tournament at Hot Springs, AR. Our 5th-grade team placed 7th out of 30 elementary teams with a Score: 2878, while our 6th-grade team secured 13th place out of 30 middle school teams with a Score: 3103. Congratulations to our talented archers who qualified as individuals for nationals in Salt Lake City, UT! Zackary Hargett clinched 2nd place in the state for elementary boys with a score of 280, Aubrey Kilgore landed 4th for elementary girls with a score of 266, Priscilla Martinez secured 8th for elementary girls with a score of 257, and Josie Mann grabbed 5th for middle school girls with a score of 279. Current 6th and 7th Graders! If you are interested in trying out for the Barton Junior High Cheerleading squad for the 2024-2025 school year, you must complete the following Google Form no later than March 15th. Today, our 6th graders had the amazing opportunity to learn all about weather from KTVE Meteorologist Alex Noel! It was an enlightening experience for our students, and they had a blast soaking up all the weather knowledge. Thank you, Alex, for taking the time to visit with our students and make this day extra special!

Monday morning students had the opportunity to meet Melissa Edison, all the way from Houston, Texas! She captivated us with her journey as an industrial engineer at the fourth largest hospital in the US, intertwining her love for art and writing. She shared about where she came from as a kid versus where she is now. Thank you for shedding light on STEM careers and the boundless opportunities, Melissa! 💡🚀 #STEMInspiration

Celebrating our January IXL leaderboard winners! Students in the top 10 were rewarded a couple of weeks ago with a treat of their choice. Impressive work from our top 2 students who answered over 1200 language arts questions correctly, with 3rd place close behind at nearly 700 correct answers. Keep up the great work!
