*There will be Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys track tryouts on May 6th and May 7th after school. You must have a valid physical to try out. Tryouts will be located at EHS or the track dependent on weather. If the tryouts are at the track there will be bus transportation. Make sure that you bring workout clothes with you.

*ACCUPLACER MakeUp testing for academic concurrent will begin this Thursday. You will recieve an email about your testing groups this Wednesday. If you do not recieve an email and believe it is an error, please reach out to your college and career coaches. Nursing, welding and other CTE concurrent credit should prepare to test next week.

*If you want to join student council for the upcoming school year, applications are due to Ms. Duncan or Mrs. Blair no later than Friday May 3rd. You can pick up an application from Ms. Duncan in room 2425 or from Mrs. Blair in room 2720.

*Our next Thespian Troupe 42 meeting will be in Mrs. Davis' room Monday April 29 at 7:15. We will be hearing campaign speeches from our prospective officers, and discussing the rest of the year. If you are an inducted thespian, or if you are inducting this year- you are STRONGLY encouraged to attend. See you there.

*Volleyball will have tryouts May 15th from 4:00-6:00 pm. All students trying out must have a current physical & report card the day of tryouts. Those interested need to contact Coach A for more information about tryouts and the open gym schedules.

*Make-up testing for Geometry and Reading will be in the 1700 hall. Teachers, check your email for a list of those students who need to report to that hall now. Students, Mrs. Roberson sent you an email with this information also.

*The Wildcats wrestling team will be starting offseason practice after school on Tuesday April 23. Practice will be at Barton Junior high School from 4pm until about 5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the school year.Any boys and girls interested in joining the wrestling team should stop by Coach Townsend’s room - 1417 - in the math hallway or email him expressing interest in joining. Anyone interested who is currently in a spring sport can still sign up to join the program. Wrestling is a winter sport that takes place from November through February, and it is an Arkansas Activities Association varsity sport for both boys and girls. El Dorado is currently a 5A program, which is the second highest classification in wrestling. The program is coming off of its most successful season yet, with its first individual state champion this past season. We would love to have more student-athletes be a part of the program and continue to build off a great season.

*The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes took the top spot in this year's March Madness bracket, and our MVP was Lucy Gray Baird. Thanks to all who voted! Seniors will get 200 class war points for the most participation, and Sophomores will get 100 points as runners up.

Then join an agriculture class and add it to your choice of classes at CATS! Exciting things are happening in the AG building and it just keeps growing and we want you to be a part of that growth!

*We are happy to announce that Ciara Gusby's mixed media was selected for The 63rd Annual Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition! This Exhibit has become very selective over the past few years. Not only was Ciara's work selected for the online gallery, but it was also selected for the On-Site Exhibit. We are not surprised, but we sure are proud of you Ciara! This is a huge honor! Ciara's work will be on display at the new Art Museum in Little Rock.

*We are happy to announce that Ciara Gusby's mixed media was selected for The 63rd Annual Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition! This Exhibit has become very selective over the past few years. Not only was Ciara's work selected for the online gallery, but it was also selected for the On-Site Exhibit. We are not surprised, but we sure are proud of you Ciara! This is a huge honor! Ciara's work will be on display at the new Art Museum in Little Rock.

*The following seven student musicians had a remarkable experience this past Saturday: Meyah Hampton, Paris Scarbrough, Latrice Johnson, Keira Dixon, Michael McCleese, Tai'Jah Parker, and Zephania Valentine all sang college-level solos for Solo Competition. Not only did these students receive Excellent and Superior ratings, they got to perform with an amazing piano accompanist and work individually with a college vocal instructor. *Congratulations to the Troupe 42 members who competed at state festival this weekend. Troupe 42 was awarded the status of Gold Troupe for this year. Becca Parks, Kalla Fudge, and Victoria Sanchez recieved awards for All State Cast for our one act "Bus Stop." Demyah Charles received an award for All State Crew for "Bus Stop." Tiffanie Duke recieved the award for Honor Thespian for Troupe 42. Riya Nelson competed for solo musical and Rion Jones competed in costume design. Mary Claire Parker competed in solo acting and placed as Best in Show for the state of Arkansas. Our tech challenge team competed in various challenges with our backdrop fold recieving a superior rating. Team included Mary Claire Parker, Preston Huitt, Kyler Mason and Kat DeFazio. Troupe 42 was also honored to present the AR Thespian Administrator of the Year award to Superintendent Jim Tucker for his support of the fine arts programs at our school.
