If you were to walk by Ms. McPhate's class this past Friday, you would have thought no one was in there. However, you'd be wrong! Instead you'd find students devouring their favorite books in the dark using flash lights!
"In an effort to get students more engaged with our weekly reading days on Friday, I wanted to come up with some alternative ways for us to read. Each student gets a flashlight and a place around the room to quietly read their AR books as I go around and engage them with questions about their books, and work with them on reading strategies." said Ms. McPhate.
What an amazing way to get students excited about reading.
