Ms. Braswell's Innovation Station 1 & 2 have been learning about types of screws and how they are inclined planes on a pole. Students worked in groups of 2 and were each given 1 bamboo skewer, 1 piece of cardstock, masking tape, and a smartwater bottle (cut on top and bottom so it was hollow). The students had to make an auger using these 4 materials. Once they got the project constructed, they placed their augers into a bucket of cheerios to see if they could transfer cheerios from one bucket to another bucket. They then had to tell Ms. Braswell what materials, if any, could make this project work better and they got to reconstruct it.
