BJH 8th grader Jai Durvasula was recognized at the Arkansas State Board of Education meeting for earning 1st place in the 2026 Arkansas Civics Bee State Finals!
Jai’s accomplishment was highlighted before the State Board as part of the State Board's recognition of Arkansas’ top Civics Bee finalists. Next up, Jai will represent Arkansas at the National Civics Bee competition on October 13–14!
We are proud to see Jai’s achievement recognized at the state level and look forward to cheering him on as he heads to the national competition!

YEARBOOK NEWS!! If you purchased a 25-26 yearbook, you will receive your copy during orientation on August 4! Copies for our students that are going to the high school will be delivered to EHS.

Fine Arts Night will take place on Friday, May 15th. Students from MP3 and Choir will perform at the South Arkansas Arts Center at 6:00 pm.
From 7:00- 7:30 pm, there will be a reception for the artwork in the lobby with free food and drinks! Parents, we would be honored to have you!

To kick off their work with the book Bridge to Terabithia, Mrs. Clayton's Focus Literacy classes worked in teams to construct bridges using uncooked spaghetti, masking tape, and marshmallows. After planning their designs and building, they tested their bridges to see how much weight each would hold. Mrs. Clayton saw some future engineers at work!
