March Madness isn’t just for basketball at Yocum Elementary. During the month of March, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students at Yocum narrow down their favorite book using a book bracket starting with 16 books. Each week, students are read two books during their library activity and are given a chance to vote for their favorite. The bracket is updated weekly with the winners from each round. The bracket came down to the final two books and the winner was revealed during an assembly at Wildcat Arena! "Dragons Love Tacos" won the vote for favorite book and the Lady Cat basketball team and EHS cheerleaders helped Yocum students celebrate! During the celebration, several students were recognized for having the most AR points in the school. Congratulations to Carson Iarossi, Marley Rozier, Jada Steward, Brenya Davis, Lance Long and Leah Long! A huge thank you to Yocum Librarian, Brook Sneed, Lady Cat Basketball coach, Ashlee Curtis and EHS cheer coach, Tab Bledoe for putting together the celebration!
