attendance matters with a backpack

Being at school on time, staying for the full day, and attending regularly are all so important for student success!

Each morning, learning begins right at 8:00 at the Elementary school with Math Focus Time. This is a valuable time when students receive targeted help on math skills they may be missing or need to strengthen. Arriving late means missing instruction that is difficult to replace later.

In the afternoon, from 2:45–3:15, students participate in BEAR Time, our daily targeted intervention block. During this time, students receive focused support in literacy skills—helping fill gaps or strengthen skills they are still developing. Checking out early often causes students to miss this important learning opportunity.

It’s also important that students do not miss school often. Frequent absences lead to missed instruction that builds day by day, making it harder for students to keep up and feel confident in their learning.

Every minute counts! Being on time, staying all day, and attending school regularly help ensure students receive the full instruction and support they need to succeed.
