At Yocum, we're learning that great things happen when we work together!

Teamwork happens when a group of people trust each other and work together to reach a common goal. Whether we're at school, at home, or out in our community, teamwork helps us build friendships, solve problems, and accomplish amazing things!

How Can We Show Teamwork at School?
  • Listen to Others: Pay attention and respect everyone's ideas.

  • Encourage Our Friends: Cheer each other on and offer kind words when someone needs support.

  • Include Everyone: Invite others to join in and share their talents, skills, and ideas.

  • Work Together: Help classmates, share responsibilities, and celebrate successes as a team!

How Can Families Practice Teamwork at Home?

Teamwork doesn't stop when the school day ends! Families can help children build teamwork skills through simple, everyday activities.

  • Tackle Chores Together: Make cleaning up toys, setting the table, or organizing a room a family team effort.

  • Cook as a Team: Let everyone have a special job while preparing a meal or snack.

  • Play Together: Board games, puzzles, and outdoor activities are great ways to practice taking turns and working together.

  • Listen to Each Other: Encourage everyone in the family to share their ideas and help make decisions.

  • Celebrate Each Other: Recognize when someone lends a helping hand or shows kindness.

We're Better Together!

Teamwork teaches our students that everyone's contributions matter. When we listen, encourage, include, and help one another, we create a stronger school and a stronger community.

This month, challenge your family to find little ways to work together each day! Remember, teamwork isn't about everyone doing the same thing. It's about everyone doing their part to reach a goal.
