El Dorado School District Names Brett Shockley Head Football Coach

The El Dorado School District is proud to announce the hiring of Brett Shockley as the new Head Football Coach for the Wildcat Football Program.

Shockley brings more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience, most recently serving as Offensive Line and Tight Ends Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Ouachita Baptist University. During his tenure, he played a key role in building one of the most successful programs in the region, contributing to seven conference championships, multiple NCAA playoff appearances, and a culture of sustained excellence.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Shockley to El Dorado,” said Elliot Jacobs, ESD Athletics Director. “His experience, leadership, and commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field make him an excellent fit for our program.”

Known for developing dominant offensive units, Shockley’s teams have consistently ranked among the best in Division II. In recent seasons, his offensive lines helped Ouachita average nearly 40 points per game, while paving the way for top-ranked rushing offenses and producing numerous All-Conference and All-American players. His units have also been recognized for their discipline and protection, including a standout season in which his offensive line allowed the fewest sacks in all of NCAA football.

In addition to his success on the field, Shockley has built a reputation as an outstanding recruiter and mentor. As Recruiting Coordinator for 17 years, he helped establish strong pipelines across Arkansas and surrounding states, contributing to 16 consecutive winning seasons for the Tigers. His commitment to student-athlete development extends beyond athletics, with his position groups achieving a 99% graduation rate and consistently maintaining high academic performance.

Shockley is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he was a three-year letterman on the Razorbacks’ offensive line and competed in multiple bowl games.

Shockley and his wife, Leigh Anne, have two children, Madison and Will.
