Congratulations to the 2025-2026 El Dorado School District Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Ashley Johnson!
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Doctor of Plant Medicine from the University of Florida, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Before joining Barton Junior High School, she taught 3rd-grade science at Yocum Elementary for four years. She then taught science and agriculture at Washington Middle School for four years before moving to Barton, where she has spent the past two years teaching Physical Science.
She is hardworking, dependable, organized, and consistently student-centered, bringing a positive attitude every day. She goes above and beyond for students, generously gives of her personal time to support school activities, and is always willing to step in and help fellow teachers however and whenever needed.
