board meeting recap - september 14, 2026

There is plenty to celebrate at El Dorado High School as students and staff continue to make progress in the classroom, pursue advanced learning opportunities, and represent EHS with distinction.

Academic Success Continues to Grow

Recent academic data showed encouraging gains in several areas. Algebra I proficiency reached 48%, compared with 37% statewide, while English 9 Writing proficiency increased 11 percentage points from the previous year.

EHS students also posted strong Advanced Placement results. In 2026, 42.05% of AP students earned a score of 3 or higher, with 127 qualifying scores. Several AP courses saw 100% of participating students earn a score of 3 or higher, including Seminar, Physics courses, Chemistry and Calculus BC:AB.

Opportunities for Every Wildcat

EHS students have access to 279 courses, including 32 advanced courses, concurrent-credit opportunities, 15 Career and Technical Education pathways, internships and more. Students can also participate in athletics, band, orchestra, theatre, choir and 26 additional clubs and organizations.

These opportunities give students multiple ways to prepare for college, explore careers and discover interests beyond the traditional classroom.

Wildcats Continue to Achieve

Student accomplishments continue to stand out. Among the current senior class, three students have ACT superscores of 30 or higher, including scores of 36 and 35, while 76 students are eligible for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. Five younger EHS students were also recognized by ACT as Early Scholars or Rising Scholars based on national PreACT rankings.
