ATTENTION: Guardians can continue checking students out as long as school personnel can do so safely. If it becomes unsafe, check-outs will be paused until they can be resumed safely. Additionally, if there are any guardians who are outside the school buildings and would like to take cover inside, please do so at your own risk. We want all to be safe.

ATTENTION: Due to the current weather warnings, all schools are in a tornado drill. We do have early dismissal today, but dismissal will not begin until the warning has been lifted. Buses may run late.

Reminder: Only 2 weeks away from the due date for AR Points. Please check with your student to see their progress on reading their books to test on after Christmas Break.

BJH Barton Bakes class has been making some yummy treats! Lately they have made pumpkin strudel muffins, hunky dory popcorn, sopapillas, and homemade biscuits!

Reminder: BJH students reading requirements for this nine weeks are due by THIS Friday, October 14th.

We received a report that an 18-wheeler hit a pole, causing a power outage at Yocum Elementary and Barton Junior High School. To fix the electrical issue, Entergy has shut down the power in that area. Administrators and teachers are handling the situation well, and school continues to take place. However, if parents or guardians would like to pick up their students, they will not be counted absent for the remainder of the day. *Power is still on at Yocum Primary.

If you haven't booked your Parent Teacher Conference appointment, today is a great day to do that! Remember, PTC will be held NEXT TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11TH from 12pm - 6pm. Students will not be in school Monday or Tuesday of next week. If your student is in grades K-4th, please contact your student's teacher directly.
