Students in Ms. Turner's robotics class studied the Engineering Design Process and circuits in order to design, build, and wire their very own "Junk bots" from recycled materials!










This past week in Mrs. G's class, students worked together in small groups to “escape to the beach” by answering reading puzzles. The puzzles covered text features, context clues, the main idea, and logic.







The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to WMS Sept. 29 - Oct. 5!

Students in Ms. Braswell's 6th period finished their projects a day early and got to play with the items in the makerspace. They decided to make a “cage” for their classmate using the makerspace items.
Very impressive!

There will be an informative meeting about the summer Greece trip (June 3rd - June 10th, 2024) tomorrow, September 21st, at 5:00 pm in the WMS library. This trip is open to any 5th-7th grade students interested in going. Families are welcome to sign up as well, but it's not required.

ESD: Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held October 3 & 5. School will dismiss at 2 pm and Conferences will be from 3:30-6:30 pm on each of these days.

Student's in Ms. Escamilla's Spanish class continue to share & explore new foods. Today they learned about Elotes & prepared their own! Thank you Escobar family for providing all the supplies.

The world “elote” means “corn cob” in Spanish, an Elote (Mexican street corn) is grilled corn on the cob slathered in a mayo and garnished with chili powder, cheese and lime. Elotes (and esquites) are as commonly sold from street carts in Mexico as hot dogs are in Manhatten.

Here's a friendly reminder that both 5th & 6th graders have their Independent Reading Assignment/Project coming up. Both grades were given specific instructions as to how to complete this and when it is due. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact your student's reading teacher.
