We had four students from our Competition Shake class go to Atlanta to compete in the National Shake Competition. We are the first school in Arkansas to ever compete! We are so proud of our students!




Join us for a Music in our Schools Month Concert tomorrow at 6:30 pm in the EHS Auditorium. This is a free concert to celebrate music education and its benefits for our students!

Route 29 will not run at the following times:
-Wednesday, March 2nd AFTERNOON
-Thursday, March 3rd MORNING and AFTERNOON
-Friday, March 4th MORNING and AFTERNOON
Parents will need to pick up their students from school on Wednesday, March 2nd, as well as transport their students to and from school on Thursday, March 3rd, and Friday, March 4th.
Route 29 will resume running a normal schedule on Monday, March 7th.

Congratulations to Mrs. Upchurch's classes! They won a class Moby Max Challenge. Together, these students logged over 1000 minutes of learning on Moby Max! This earned them an Amazon gift card that Mrs. Upchurch plans to use to purchase more books for their classroom library!


Check out the WMS Basketball girls! Coach Curtis (head girls basketball coach at EHS) and Coach Young got them these shirts! The girls are preparing for the basketball tryouts coming up at BJHS to hopefully become a Lady Cat. Good luck ladies!

Fifth grade students are playing the online game "For Crown or Colony" this week in Social Studies. This role-playing game reviews important events that led to the American Revolution and lets students see what life was like at that time.

For Black History Month in Artology, students learned about the Harlem Renaissance and artists who came about during that era. Students then started a project inspired by artist Lois Mailou Jones, who was known for Haitian inspired oil and watercolor paintings.




Thank you to everyone who purchased a Carnation Gram! What a fun and successful fundraiser for the WMS Cheer team! They were able to sell all 400 carnations. Congrats girls!

This Saturday, the Washington Middle School robotics teams participated in the Lake Chicot Cupid Showdown in Lake Village, AR. Both teams did very well in the skills challenges! Team A, the Hammerheads, ranked 5th out of 22 in skills while Team C, the Megalodons, ranked 8th. The Hammerheads had the top autonomous coding score for the entire competition!
Great job!


WMS literacy and art students teamed up to create LOVELY Valentine cards for area nursing homes!
Lots of learning happening around WMS today!
Students in Mr. Franks class worked in small groups on math practice, students in Mr. Rynders class used MakeBlock Neuron to create interactive projects, and students in Mrs. Norris class worked together to practice solving inequalities!




5th grade writing teachers created a "Famous Writers" wall to showcase student essays written on whether they prefer outdoor activities or video gaming systems.

Congrats to our 2022 Moana Cast!

6th grade Science has been learning about how "Adaptations" give plants and animals advantages in their environment to survive. In Ms. Escamilla's class they decorated Chameleons to camouflage themselves all around the room and hopfully not be spotted.
