Be sure to tune into KTVE today at 4:00PM to hear the story of our book vending machine at Yocum Primary! It is the first machine in Union County and one of three in South Arkansas! #letmehearyouGROWL #YocumBears

Yocum was so excited to have a float in the El Dorado Christmas parade. Over the last few weeks, Kindergarten through 4th grade students worked on creating different pieces of the float during art class. The students hand sponged all of the squares, created and painted the flowers, helped paint the Mystery Machine van and glittered the letters. We are so proud of all their hard work.
*REMINDER*
2nd, 3rd and 4th graders will be participating in Camp Yocum TOMORROW! They can dress up in their favorite camping attire for a day they don't want to miss!

As we wrapped up American Education Week, students were encouraged to dress up as what they would like to be when they grow up! Check out our Facebook page for more photos.

Our 1st graders had a great time dressing up as their favorite book characters and putting on a parade for the rest of the school. Check out our Facebook page for more photos.

On Tuesday, November 29th every 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade student will attend Camp Yocum! PLEASE make sure your student is at school that day because it is an event they won't want to miss! Students can wear their favorite camping attire and gear up for a fun day.

We received a report that an 18-wheeler hit a pole, causing a power outage at Yocum Elementary and Barton Junior High School. To fix the electrical issue, Entergy has shut down the power in that area. Administrators and teachers are handling the situation well, and school continues to take place. However, if parents or guardians would like to pick up their students, they will not be counted absent for the remainder of the day.
*Power is still on at Yocum Primary.
