Schools Closed Through End of Year - AMI to Continue

Today, Governor Hutchinson announced that traditional school has been cancelled for the remainder of the year due to the current Covid 19 pandemic. Schools will continue AMI Days through the remainder of the school year, utilizing the Arkansas AMI curriculum (K-8) through May 1 and Google Classroom (K-12) through the end of the school year. Teachers will continue to be available through email and Google Classroom from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday-Friday.

As a district, we will be preparing more information for our students, staff and parents. For now, the El Dorado School District is postponing graduation. We will discuss possibilities and make a decision in the near future as to how graduation will be handled. For more information for EHS Seniors, see this letter from Principal Sherry Hill.

In the past few weeks, I have been humbled and encouraged by the resolve of our community, teachers and students as we have faced this unprecedented time in our schools and our country. I encourage you to continue following the recommendations from our national and state authorities during these times so that we do all we can to keep ourselves, our families and our community members safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Jim Tucker
