The Center for Gifted & Talented is located at Retta Brown Elementary. Students in grades 2-4 receive GT instruction one day a week. Students in grades 5-6 receive GT instruction once a month. Students are transported via bus from their school to Retta Brown, then back to their school by the end of the day. Gifted and Talented children and youth are those of high potential or ability, whose learning characteristics and educational needs require qualitatively differentiated educational experiences and/or services. Possession of these talents and gifts, or the potential for their development, will be evidenced through an interaction of above average intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation, and creative ability.
