Parents - If you have completed the Wildcat Online Academy (WOA) enrollment form online, please plan to attend the WOA orientation at Retta Brown on Wednesday, Sept 9 from 10am - 2pm to complete the enrollment process.
You will complete the WOA paperwork, pay the $25 enrollment fee (exact cash or check please), and receive your child's laptop or Chromebook and login instructions.
Until the enrollment process for WOA has been completed, the student needs to attend school on-site or parents need to contact the school to get your student's assignments.
Device handout for on-site students in grades 7-12 will also take place September 9 from 10-12 at Retta Brown. $25 insurance on the device is recommended. (Exact cash or check please.)

WOA Families - Remember you can reserve meals to pick up each week for your students. Meals must be reserved by Monday of each week by filling out the form at http://bit.ly/ESDWOAMeals. Complete the form for each student in your home to receive 5 breakfasts and lunches per week.

No school Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day

Parents - do you need help with Google Classroom? Come to Help for Parents this Thursday, Sept. 3 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the TAC House. If you cannot come this week, don't worry. This help will also be available at the TAC House on Sept. 8, 10, 15, & 17 from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Elementary students in Wildcat Online Academy are taking individual diagnostic assessments at El Dorado’s testing center. The data will be used by their teachers to place them in appropriate small groups for instruction.
The small groups will allow onsite teacher and peer interaction with virtual students. Small groups are expected to begin in September.
The assessments are scheduled by their school’s Instructional Facilitator. Parents and other Learning Coaches will be notified by telephone or through email about their child’s scheduled time.

We hope that each of you have weathered the storm safely. At this time, all of our buildings have power so we are planning for school to be in regular session tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning for our area. Hurricane Laura is expected to bring rain and high winds to El Dorado tomorrow. Out of caution, the El Dorado School District will not hold face-to-face classes tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, 2020. All classes will be virtual.
We are aware that some of our onsite students do not have a device at home. Any student who does not have access to a device or the internet will not be penalized and will have opportunities to complete their assignments.
Grab and Go breakfast will be available for pickup from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at Retta Brown Gifted and Talented Center for elementary and middle schools and at El Dorado High School for junior high and high school students.
Decisions about Friday will be announced tomorrow. We realize this is a late announcement and apologize for any inconvenience.

As with any inclement weather situation, we are monitoring updates on Hurricane Laura closely. We do not expect for there to be any changes to our school schedule as a result of the rain and high winds. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and, as always, will act with the safety of our students as our priority. If there are any changes to school schedules or bus routes, they will be posted to our website, social media and communicated through local radio.
