ESD EARNS A B LETTER GRADE MOVING FROM A C TO A B IN THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR!

The El Dorado School District has earned an overall “B” letter grade for the 2025–26 school year, improving from a “C” the previous year.

Several campuses also showed notable growth this year. Barton Junior High School improved from a D to a B, making a two-letter-grade jump. Hugh Goodwin Elementary improved from a C to a B, while Northwest Elementary improved from a D to a C. El Dorado High School maintained its B rating.

2025–26 school letter grades are:

  • El Dorado High School: B

  • Barton Junior High School: B

  • Washington Middle School: D

  • Hugh Goodwin Elementary: B

  • Northwest Elementary: C

  • Yocum Elementary: D

  • El Dorado School District: B

In addition to the district’s improved letter grade, three El Dorado School District campuses have earned 2026 Arkansas Gem School designations from the Arkansas Department of Education. Arkansas Gem Schools recognize schools demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, growth, content-area performance, or sustained improvement based on the state’s accountability data.

Hugh Goodwin Elementary School

  • Achievement of All — Top 6–10%

  • Achievement by Content Area — Mathematics

  • Achievement by Content Area — ELA

Hugh Goodwin Elementary School also received an award through the Arkansas School Recognition Program in connection with its Achievement of All designation. These recognitions reflect the work of students, educators, school leaders, families, and the broader school community.
