In February, Superintendent Jim Tucker presented Mr. Wayne Gibson with a clock from the Arkansas School Boards Association for his years of service on the El Dorado School Board of Education. Mr. Gibson was recognized for his thirty years of service, playing many roles on the board during his tenure, as well as serving on the Arkansas School Boards Association. His love for the people of El Dorado and the South Arkansas community is evident in his commitment to serve. Mr. Gibson serves on the Board of Directors of South Arkansas Community College and is the Executive Director of Fairview Community Development Association, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Medical Center of South Arkansas and is a licensed realtor. Mr. Gibson currently works at MurphyUSA as the Senior Manager of Real Estate and Property Management.
Mr. Tucker acknowledged that over the last seven years as superintendent, he has leaned heavily on Mr. Gibson’s wisdom and knowledge as a board member and appreciated his past representation on the boards and committees at the state level. Mrs. Susan Turbebille expressed how proud Mr. Gibson makes the board by representing South Arkansas. Although he never imagined serving this long, Mr. Gibson said it was an honor, and he appreciated serving with this board.
