october honorees

Congratulations to the El Dorado School District Honorees of the Month from Barton Junior High School.

Student of the Month is Isaiah Robinson.

Isaiah is in the 8th grade and is the son of Carlos and Ashley Robinson. He is currently enrolled in all of the Pre-AP courses that Barton offers, computer science, and is on the basketball team.

The teacher nominating him stated, “Isaiah goes above and beyond what is required of him in my class. Not only does he complete his work quickly and correctly, he then helps his fellow students anytime he can. He, in fact, takes the initiative to offer help to students without having to be asked. He is respectful at all times to me and to his fellow students. He works hard, and he is kind. I can think of no better candidate for the 8th-grade class than Isaiah Robinson.”

His basketball coach stated, “ He is the epitome of a leader on and off the court. He is dedicated to his studies and maintains a high GPA and also has a high work ethic to match his talent level. That's a key reason he has been elevated to play with 9th grade as an 8th grader.”

His principal said, “You will not find a finer young man. He has high expectations for himself. Isaiah is definitely one to watch. No doubt, he will accomplish great things.”

Classified Employee of the Month is Glamara Mitchell.

Ms. Mitchell joined the Barton family as the attendance secretary this year and immediately began spreading joy. She has a smile for everyone with whom she comes in contact. She is typically the first person that anyone sees when entering Barton and what an impression she makes.

Her coworker stated, “Glam is new at Barton but has already made herself at home with the faculty and students. She is willing to help in any way and has an infectiously happy attitude.  She is a bright light when you walk in the door. She is helpful and always seems positive which is exactly what we always need.  She brings great energy every day. She works diligently to ensure attendance is accurate daily and holds teachers accountable via email. She is a blessing to this staff.”

Her principal said, “Barton was blessed when Ms. Mitchell became a part of our staff. Having no experience in an attendance office, she had a lot to learn. She jumped in and began to learn what was needed, all while maintaining her positive attitude. It is a blessing to start the day seeing Ms. Mitchell.”

He is positive, outgoing, and is a hard worker. Every school district needs a Hayden Nooner. He goes above and beyond for his students.
