Three ESD administrators have been honored with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award! 🎖️

Superintendent Jim Tucker, EHS Principal John Jameson, and EHS Assistant Principal Wendy Strickland were nominated by Major Greg Newton of the Army Reserve’s 90th Sustainment Brigade for the exceptional support they provided to his family while he was deployed.

The three administrators were nominated by Major Greg Newton of the Army Reserve’s 90th Sustainment Brigade for the exceptional support they provided to his wife, EHS English teacher Clair Antoon-Newton, and their family while he was recently deployed. During his deployment, Tucker, Jameson, and Strickland went above and beyond to support the Newton family, reflecting what Major Newton described as ESD's commitment to supporting soldiers and their families.

Congratulations to Mr. Tucker, Mr. Jameson, and Mrs. Strickland on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

All El Dorado High School students are required to complete 75 hours of community service to graduate. Class of 2027, you have 9 months to complete this.

If a student averages 20 hours starting in the 9th grade, they will have more than the required graduation amount by graduation.

The Book Nook is officially up and running!

Jai Durvasula created this community project as part of his participation in the National Civics Bee. The Book Nook is located inside the red telephone booth next to PJ’s Coffee downtown and is now stocked with books for the community to enjoy. 💜📖

As we prepare to cheer on our Wildcats at Memorial Stadium, we would like to remind families, students, staff, and community members of the guidelines in place to help ensure a safe, organized, and enjoyable game-day experience.

Beginning with our next home varsity football game, new procedures will be in place for students accessing the area beneath the home bleachers, including the concession stand, restrooms, and snow cone stand.

• Students in grades K–6 must be accompanied by an adult when going underneath the bleachers.

• Students in grades 7–12 may access the area without an adult, but only five students will be permitted down each ramp at one time.

• When a student returns to the bleachers, another student may then enter the area.

This area is intended for accessing concessions, restrooms, and other services and is not designated as a student gathering or hangout area. These procedures will help prevent overcrowding, keep walkways clear, and allow staff to effectively monitor the area.

Please review all Memorial Stadium guidelines regarding admission, student attendance, re-entry, the Clear Bag Policy, outside food and drinks, and other event expectations before attending.

We had an incredible turnout at our first two Volunteer Training sessions of the school year, with 333 adults in attendance! 🎉Thank you to everyone who joined us and is ready to support our students and schools.

If you weren’t able to attend one of the first two sessions, we’ll offer one more Volunteer Training opportunity on January 22, 2027, at 1 pm at the South Arkansas Arts Center.

EHS Biotechnology students are starting the school year by getting acquainted with the tools they’ll use throughout the year!

During this hands-on activity, students practiced using pipettes and other lab equipment with tubes filled with water and food coloring. The colorful setup gave them a low-stakes way to learn proper techniques, build confidence, and prepare for more advanced labs later this year.

BJH 8th grader Jai Durvasula was recognized at the Arkansas State Board of Education meeting for earning 1st place in the 2026 Arkansas Civics Bee State Finals!

Jai’s accomplishment was highlighted before the State Board as part of the State Board's recognition of Arkansas’ top Civics Bee finalists. Next up, Jai will represent Arkansas at the National Civics Bee competition on October 13–14!

We are proud to see Jai’s achievement recognized at the state level and look forward to cheering him on as he heads to the national competition!

Due to extreme heat, the football scrimmage scheduled for tomorrow has been moved from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m.

The safety of our student-athletes is our top priority. Conditions will continue to be monitored throughout the day. If temperatures and wet-bulb readings have not reached safe levels by 8 p.m., the start time will be adjusted accordingly. Any additional changes will be communicated as soon as possible.

Please remember that the Clear Bag Policy will remain in effect for the scrimmage.
