Secretary of Education, Jacob Oliva, has granted schools the opportunity to shift from a 178-day calendar to an alternative calendar during the school year. We, at El Dorado School District, have eagerly embraced this change by submitting a waiver to adopt an alternative calendar based on hours – requiring students to complete 1068 hours of school.
Last night, the ESD School Board approved a plan to make up for the 4 winter weather missed days.
🗓️ Here are the changes that will take place:
• DAY 1: February 19 (previously a PD day) is now a student contact day.
• DAY 2: Starting February 28, students will be in school until 2:30 PM on six Wednesdays, ending on April 10. (Feb. 28, Mar. 6, Mar. 13, Mar. 27, Apr. 3, Apr. 10)
This adjustment ensures our students get back on track without sacrificing too much of their well-deserved break!
