If you went to summer school to fulfill your Promise obligations, your summer transcripts are due as soon as your last summer session is complete.
All transcripts must be sent to eldoradopromise@esd-15.org.
**If you have sent in your required information, but have not received the normal confirmation as in past years, please be patient. Currently, no news is good news. We are working through everyone's information and are notifying anyone with potential issues first. We will get through this transition successfully, and together, so take a deep breath, then send in anything you haven't sent in!

El Dorado Promise Office
Have you enrolled your child in kindergarten in the El Dorado School District? Did you know that all incoming kindergarteners must participate in kindergarten assessments this summer? Results are being used to create class lists to ensure each child is matched with the best teacher. If you missed the July assessment dates, you are in luck! A makeup testing day will be held on August 14 from 12-6pm. Please visit your child’s school during this time for your child’s test, which will last about 20 minutes.

To complete this next phase, the El Dorado School District is requesting a 5.0 debt service mill increase. If approved, the District's total new millage rate will be 38.5, which would still be the lowest in the county. We believe our students deserve the best learning facilities! ROBOTICS
During the school year, students at BJH and WMS have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning by building and programming robots using the VEX IQ pieces and software. Students learn the important life skills of teamwork, problem-solving, and thinking outside the box.
“Each team designed and programmed their own robots to compete against teams from around the state. Of the 14 students who attended the VEX IQ Robotics competitions, one team of three students did so well that they qualified for the VEX IQ Elementary State Championship in Russellville, AR.” Mr. Herren, WMS advisor, said.
At BJH, students attended local competitions and qualified for state. According to advisor Jill Humphreys, “The team then scored high enough at state to receive an invitation to the World Robotics Tournament in Dallas, TX during the first week of May. Students competed against teams from over 50 countries and from the United States. The two teams ended the year ranked 9 and 12 out of 100 teams in the state of Arkansas.”

eXtreme Opportunities
El Dorado School District students at BJH and EHS have the opportunity to participate in eXtreme, a drug prevention program sponsored by the Share Foundation. The program works with students in grades 8th-12th, teaching them to take the lead in drug and violence prevention through community outreach, drug education, and drug-free activities.
Students at BJH are the first to experience being members of eXtreme Youth Programs, and their advisor, Mrs. Carey, said they had “an extremely amazing school year” last year. Some of this year's activities included hosting an information booth at the Union County Fair, ringing the bells for the Salvation Army, reading books to a local daycare, and empowering other students with facts about the dangers of vaping, the complications of drug abuse, and the consequences of consuming alcohol.
