It's that time of year again—cold and flu season is here! One of the best ways to keep illness at bay is by practicing good hygiene, like washing your hands frequently and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces in your home. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also strongly recommends getting your annual flu shot, which is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your family.
The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone aged six months and older, and October is an ideal time to get vaccinated so your immune system has time to develop antibodies—usually within two weeks.
The flu virus changes annually, so getting your vaccine each year helps protect you from the most common strains while reducing the spread within our community.
ESD students can conveniently receive their flu shot at school through our free flu clinics this month. For details, contact your student’s school. Teachers, students, and families can also get vaccinated at the Wildcat Wellness Center on the WMS campus. Call 870-639-3875 to schedule your appointment!

Happy National School Principals Month! We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, leadership, and hard work of our ESD Principals. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community!
