El Dorado High School Earns State and National Recognition for Academic Excellence

El Dorado High School is proud to celebrate a series of outstanding achievements recognizing the hard work and dedication of its students, staff, and community.

The Arkansas Department of Education has designated El Dorado High School as a B school for the 2024–2025 school year, a reflection of strong academic performance, growth, and commitment to student success. This rating highlights the school’s continued progress in preparing students for college, career, and community readiness.

In addition to the ADE recognition, the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas recently identified El Dorado High School for its notable math growth among Arkansas high schools. This achievement underscores the school’s focus on academic improvement and innovative instruction that helps all students reach their potential.  In the Southwest Region, El Dorado High School was ranked number two in math growth and of the Top 5, the only high school with more than 200 tests taken.

Adding to these honors, U.S. News & World Report once again named El Dorado High School as one of the Best High Schools in America for 2025. This national recognition places El Dorado among the top-performing schools in the country, based on factors such as graduation rates, college readiness, and student achievement in key academic areas.

“These recognitions are a testament to the commitment of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said John Jameson, principal of El Dorado High School. “We are proud of the culture of excellence at EHS and will continue working to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

El Dorado High School extends its gratitude to the entire Wildcat community for its continued support and partnership in helping students achieve success at every level.
