"Ciara the Artist"

Ciara Gusby's self-portrait, "Ciara the Artist" was chosen to be part of the 61st Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition. There were over 400 entries this year.

We are so proud of Ciara and her hard work, especially her art teachers; Mrs. Harwell remarks that Ciara is "Simply amazing!  In 17 years I have probably taught 1 or 2 like her." Congratulations Ciara!

Young Arkansas Artists highlights the remarkable talent, creativity and perspective of Arkansas students.

Each year, art teachers and instructors throughout Arkansas submit their students’ work, and a panel of art professionals selects works to be included in the exhibition. The Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition showcases artwork from kindergarten through high school in a wide range of mediums and techniques – from crayon and pastel to collage and sculpture.

The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts is proud to present an online version of the long-standing Young Arkansas Artists program and exhibition. Artists of the 61st Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition and their families and teachers will gather – virtually – on YouTube for an awards ceremony with remarks by AMFA Executive Director Dr. Victoria Ramirez and Juror Dr. Emily Hood. The virtual exhibition showcasing the winning artwork will go live on Monday, May 16, 2022.
