Kaylee Vickery, a senior at El Dorado High School, received an invitation during the 2017 spring semester to attend the 3 day National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists this past summer at the University of Massachusetts. During the conference, Kaylee was able to hear and meet many speakers who have made amazing medical breakthroughs. For example, she met the doctor who performed the first successful face transplant. In addition to the speakers, Kaylee met a man who received a bionic eye and thus his vision was restored.
Kaylee recommends the experience to any student who is interested in the medical field.
