
Because of tomorrow's expected weather, the baseball and softball games that were scheduled for Friday at Lakeside will be played TODAY in Lakeside. The soccer games with Lakeside have been moved to TODAY and will be played in El Dorado.

Do you know someone pursuing a degree in a health-related career field?
Each spring, the Foundation awards scholarships to area students who are currently enrolled, or beginning their education, in a health-related career field. Applicants must be studying one of the following on a full-time basis: medicine, nursing, laboratory/research, radiology, physical therapy, speech therapy, surgical technology, dentistry, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, medical information, or another health related field. Applicants must also be residents of Arkansas or attending college in Arkansas. Awards may be used for tuition, books, room and board, or other education expenses.
The deadline is Saturday, April 17.


Lots of scholarships have been uploaded to the Senior Information Center. Including the following:
William M "Buddy" Atkinson Jr Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is for a student planning to attend SAU and seeking a four-year Agriculture degree. The application deadline is June 1.
Aerojet Rocketdyne Foundation Scholarship. This scholarships is for two EHS seniors planning to pursue a college education in a STEM field. The application deadline is April 16.

The College and Career Coaches are hosting meetings this week for the JUNIORS to talk about ACT scores, school choice, and funding your college education. Check your email for your day and code to join!


Current high school juniors graduating in 2022 are eligible to apply for and win up to $15,000 in scholarship funding towards higher education. Arkansas Rice's "Rice Reps" is a five month program to help educate students about the rice industry while equipping them to act as advocates in their communities and on social media.

Attention Senior Parents!
Although the El Dorado School District is not hosting a Prom this year, there will be a PARENT-SPONSORED PROM following the Senior Banquet on May 1st.
In order for the parent-sponsored prom to be successful, the Senior Class Parents are holding a PROM ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING this Tuesday, April 13th at 6pm at the Barn at Draggin’ M Ranch, 785 Hinson Road, El Dorado. The planning committee intends to firm up assignments and details. If you are interested in helping make this prom a wonderful night for the senior class, please attend. In honor of National Library Week this past week, thank you to Mrs. Porter and all she does for our school library! She keeps our shelves stocked with the most current books and can always find just what you didn't even know you were looking for! Thank you, Mrs. Porter!

Mrs. Brooks has been an assistant principal for four years. She works with the freshmen girls. In her spare time, she loves to look up copycat restaurant recipes to make her family's favorite restaurant foods at home.

Can't let today go without recognizing Assistant Principal Russ Bechtelheimer, aka Mr. Beck!
Mr. Beck has been an assistant principal for 15 years. He works with the sophomore and junior boys. Two really cool facts about Mr. Beck? He was drafted out of high school by the Kansas City Royals as a pitcher and had a try out with the Dallas Cowboys as a quarterback! Mr. Beck loves sports, and now he is supporting the Wildcats from the sidelines!

Mrs. Smith has been an assistant at EHS for 11 years. Mrs. Smith is married to Mr. Mark Smith, the principal at Barton Jr. High. Fun fact: EHS is the only school she has been a teacher/assistant principal! She really does bleed purple and white!

Mr. Jameson has been an assistant principal for 5 years. He works with the freshmen boys. He is a member of a nationally ranked softball team and a member of the Smackover Fire Department. Whether at school or at home, Mr. Jameson works hard at all he does!

Members of the Beta Club competed virtually in the Arkansas Beta Convention in January. The awards finally came in! Congrats to senior Kasey Dumas and sophomore Vicky Zhu! Kasey placed first in Division II Black & White Photography, and Vicky placed first in Tenth Grade Math!
