Congratulations to the Wildcat Freshman Chess team on their victory at ASU. The Cats won the junior large school regional on the strength of performances by Kevin Beeman, De Andre Bluford, Robert Boerwinkle, Kieran Obiozo and J.R. Stipp-Bethune, who was named tournament MVP with a perfect 5-0 record. Great job, Gentlemen.

For the last several years, El Dorado High School Student Council and Key Club have partnered together to hold MISSter EHS as a fundraiser for the Circle of Friends Union County, a non-profit organization that supports Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Circle of Friends Union County lead Kerry Jackson and ACH liaison Emily Mitchell met with EHS students today to receive a donation check for $3,800 as part of the Kids Caring for Kids program. This donation was a total of $1,300 more than the students raised for ACH last year.
Chapters throughout the state work collectively to raise one million dollars each fiscal year, and they have exceeded that goal the last two years. "Funds donated through Circle of Friends go directly to ACH," Mrs. Jackson said.
According to the ACH website, there are over 700 active members statewide and twelve active chapters. We are very proud of our EHS students for their participation and our community for their support in doing our part to help Circle of Friends Union County and ACH reach their goal.

Journalism I students used crackers, marshmallows and other edible "tools" to show their yearbook spread design skills this past week.

Both 9th grade basketball teams finished their seasons with a win over Texarkana last week! The 9th grade girls finished the season with an overall record of 18 wins and only 4 losses! The 9th grade boys' team ended with a 10-11 overall record. Way to go, Cats!

Ms. Leake's Algebra 1 classes played Candyland Review for the exponent power and product rule. As students answered questions correctly, they moved through the board until they reached the Hall of Fame. "They did such a phenomenal job," Ms. Leake said. Way to go, Math Cats!

Congrats to the Small Business Operations class that operates the Wildcat Cafe! The class, along with their teacher and sponsor, Mrs. Phillips, worked hard to prepare for their annual certification. They are Gold Certified again! Awesome job!
